Here is a real-life documentation of the ceremonious unpacking of the box with my author copies of all of my refreshed book children, collected by a local delivery spot a few days ago.

We sat down at a café right in the middle of the chaos of our little Forio town, filled with people, heat, and everything imaginable (and even unimaginable) that simply belongs to a true Mediterranean—or better yet, Ischitan—summer. Although I usually seek quieter and more harmonious surroundings to spend my time, sometimes I go and dive headfirst into the sea of madness. Because as was said in that beautiful, encouraging, and moving scene of the great movie La La Land by the protagonist, Emma: "A bit of madness is key, to give us new colors to see."

And right there, I opened the little box. My laughter was quiet in the middle of everything happening around me, and I think there was no better place I could have chosen. If I think about it, if it wasn't for a little bit—and sometimes a lot—of madness in my life choices, decisions, and the surroundings that fueled my imagination and proved my strength, my books would have never been born!

So, here they are, my book children, all refreshed and ready to uplift your days and encourage you to let a little bit of craziness enter your life. Because that is the ingredient that can often help move mountains, or even write books...

As for me, I am already headfirst into the creation of new pages... Soon, I will share more.

Hello! Before I sit down to write today’s letter capturing the highlights of this past week of true summer on the island (a truly authentic Ischitan version, which I think is hard to find anywhere else!), I wanted to reintroduce my three "book children" in their beautifully refreshed covers. After all, one of the absolute best summer activities is reading—and it's even better when it's a real paper book.

On my shelf, you can currently find three options: an inspirational guide, a memoir, and a novel. Of course, all three share the same mother. So, although they belong to different genres, they carry the exact same style, the same voice, and the same wish: to let you relax, transport you to other places, and inspire you to live for what matters most.

If I had to pick just one of them as my personal recommendation for this time of year, I would say: Random Roman Holiday. It is the ultimate summer book. There is a romance—of course!—and it unfolds in Rome, the Eternal City. I love that book, even if it is my own story. Every time I randomly open its pages, it lets me dream all over again...

Summer has truly arrived on the island, bringing warm evening skies, heavy oleander blooms, and a simple desire to just exist and absorb the present moment.

Yesterday, I braved the hot "oven streets" on a tiny, specific mission: to walk down to our town's only remaining newsstand and rescue a real, printed magazine.

Slowing down here is teaching me that true fulfillment doesn't require massive, complicated adventures. It is always waiting right inside the most ordinary, simplest spaces—if only we have the patience to look closer and choose what is real.

It’s so easy to escape the present. It's so easy to let ourselves be carried away by various scenarios, options, visions, and desires while the real moments pass us by—unlived, unsavored.

And yet, whenever we return from whatever trip our minds are trying to take us on, we get to marvel at the intensity of being present. The deep satisfaction of realizing that everything we were overthinking is absolutely nothing compared to truly being right here.

Life can be so easy. Love can be so easy. Everything can be so easy... if only we would stop thinking so much and just savor the moment right in front of us.

Sitting on the terrace today with a lukewarm cocoa-coconut tea and a softly scented breeze.

A few new herb plants recently joined our terrace family. They are upgrading our meals, but they are also spontaneously teaching me about life.

I wasn’t always someone who noticed the magic of a growing leaf. For a long time, I wanted the fast, packed rhythm of a big city. But the conclusions we make in life aren't always accurate.

When we clear away the heavy distractions, a beautiful emptiness opens up. And in that space, pure joy naturally creeps in. You don't have to live on a tiny island to find it—it just takes a little bit of your time to stop and truly see.

Yesterday, I sent out a whole letter about this shift, the lessons from my new oregano plant, and the beauty of changing our minds.

The heart is always our best friend, the best companion for a journey, and the best partner we could ever choose to take advice from. Always trust your heart. Never doubt it. No matter what, the heart always tells us the truth and wants only the best for us.

There is a place for any idea, and for any dream that truly resonates within you.

There is a path leading to it.

There is a way to anything your heart softly urges you to pursue.

And there is immense joy and a sense of calm and peace within you when you follow—even though the sea on which you travel won't always be calm...

But it's not only about the big things and dreams. It is the everyday hints and little pieces of advice that you should always listen to… to take a rest, to move more, to put more effort into your steps, or to take it easier.

The heart is always there, in the background, like a loving parent, suggesting what it knows is best for us based on lived experiences...

So, trust, follow, and live each moment as best and as calm within as only you can.
